Abstract Submission Guidelines

The Scientific Committee invites pharmacists, healthcare professionals, researchers, academics, and students to submit scientific abstracts for consideration for presentation at the conference.

1General requirements

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • The abstract must be relevant to pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, healthcare, or related fields.
  • The abstract must not exceed 300 words, excluding the title, authors, affiliations, and keywords.
  • Abstracts must be submitted through the official conference submission platform.
  • The submitting author is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided and for obtaining approval from all co-authors before submission.
  • The presenting author must be clearly identified.
  • Authors may indicate their preferred presentation type: oral presentation, poster presentation, or either.
  • The final presentation format will be determined by the EPS Scientific Committee based on scientific merit and suitability.

2Abstract structure

The abstract should be structured using the following headings.

  • Title

    Concise, informative, and an accurate reflection of the content of the work. A maximum of 20 words is recommended. Avoid abbreviations in the title.

  • Background & objective

    Briefly describe the background or rationale for the work and clearly state the objective(s).

  • Methods

    Describe the study or project design, setting, participants or data sources, interventions where applicable, outcome measures, and analytical approach.

  • Results

    Present the main findings clearly and concisely. Relevant quantitative results should be provided whenever applicable. Statements such as “results will be presented” should not be used.

  • Conclusion

    State the main conclusion and its relevance or implications. Conclusions must be supported by the results presented.

  • Keywords

    Provide 3–5 keywords relevant to the work.

3Authors and affiliations

The submission should include:

  • Full name of each author
  • Institutional affiliation of each author
  • City and country
  • Email address of the corresponding or submitting author
  • Clear identification of the presenting author

All listed authors should have reviewed and approved the submitted abstract.

4Scientific and ethical requirements

  • The work should demonstrate scientific, professional, educational, or practice relevance.
  • Research involving human participants or identifiable patient data must have appropriate ethical or IRB approval or exemption, and participant informed consent where applicable.
  • Authors may be requested to provide evidence of ethical approval.
  • Patient confidentiality must be maintained.
  • Generic or non-proprietary drug names should be used whenever possible.
  • Abstracts must not contain commercial advertising or inappropriate promotion of products, companies, or services.
  • Any relevant conflict of interest should be disclosed during submission.

5Abstract formatting

The abstract submission must:

  • Not exceed 300 words
  • Be written in clear, professional English
  • Define non-standard abbreviations at first use
  • Not contain tables, figures, graphs, images, or references
  • Not contain commercial logos or promotional material

6Scientific review

All eligible abstracts will undergo review by the EPS Scientific Committee, and will be evaluated according to:

  • Relevance and significance
  • Originality and innovation
  • Scientific or methodological quality
  • Quality and interpretation of results
  • Clarity and overall quality of the abstract

The Scientific Committee reserves the right to accept or reject an abstract, request clarification or minor amendments, and determine whether an accepted abstract will be presented as an oral or poster presentation. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.

7Reasons for rejection

An abstract may not be accepted if:

  • It does not follow the submission guidelines.
  • The methodology or scientific content is inadequate.
  • Results are absent or insufficient to support the conclusion.
  • The abstract is unclear or incomplete.
  • The submission is primarily promotional or commercial.
  • Significant ethical concerns are identified.
  • The same work has been submitted more than once.

8Acceptance and presentation

Acceptance of an abstract represents a commitment by the presenting author to participate in the conference and present the work in the format assigned by the Scientific Committee, electronically, as per the slots that will be shared with you prior to the conference.

Detailed poster and oral presentation requirements will be provided to authors following abstract acceptance.

Important

Submission of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance. All submissions are subject to scientific review and final approval by the EPS Scientific Committee.
